Abstract
This article entitled 'Evolution of Political Process in Azad Kashmir from 1975 to 2006’focuses on
the purliainentury system in Azad Kashmir. During this research it has been tried to expose the
nature of parliamentary system, appointment of President and Prime-Minister, Unicameral or
bicameral Parliament, relations between government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and government of
Pakistan, influence of Politics of Pakistan on the politics of Azad Kashmir and the role
o[political parties in political evolution ofAzad Jammu & Kashmir.In this respect books, newspapers, magazines and reports published hy government have been consulted.The implemented interim constitution of Azad Kashmir resembles the Pakistan's constitution of 1973. Only the Electoral College of President is different. President of Azad Kashm ir is elected inJoint Session of Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council. In Presidential elections, the members of Kashmir Council cast their voles. But according to the interim constitution, the Kashmir Council does not have the equal status of Upper House. There is unicameral parliament. The government of Paksitan has the authority to remove the president of Azad Kashmir according to the article 56 of Interim Constitution. liispite of flue existence of Legislative Assembly, Kashmir Council has extensive powers of Legislation. All the activities and political parties against the access ron to Pakistan are restricted according to the constitution.
