Abstract
A 28-year old male residing in the Mediterranean region who had chronic pancreatitis and diabetes is presented. This is a case of chronic calcific non-alcoholic pancreatitis with characteristic intraductal calculi evident on plain abdominal x-ray , US ,CT scan and MRCP. Insulin-requiring diabetes mellitus developed seven years subsequent to the first episode of pancreatitis . Although this case is fitting the criteria applied by Mohan et al for diagnosis of fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes ,it reports a unique fact that this patient is having been born in Jordan and being a resident of Jordan
