Abstract
We report a 24-year-old female, who had already been diagnosed with non-communicating hydrocephalus, presenting with repeated paroxysmal-altered behaviors that resembled epileptic seizures. An examination showed no definite findings for supporting epileptic seizures. However, positive responses to an antiepileptic drug and progressive changes in motor manifestations with abnormality on her brain MRI exacerbated the diagnosis of her symptoms. Repeated observation and examinations, including video-EEG monitoring, revealed that her symptoms resulted not from epileptic seizures but rather from psychogenic nonepileptic seizures.
